Cursor and VS Code

Add StitchDB to Cursor, VS Code and other editors that support remote MCP servers.

#Cursor

Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json in a repository. Remove headers to sign in with OAuth instead.

mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "stitchdb": {
      "url": "https://stitchdb.com/platform/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer sdb_pat_..." }
    }
  }
}

#VS Code

Add to .vscode/mcp.json. VS Code asks for the token once and stores it securely; the tools are available to Copilot Chat in agent mode.

.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "inputs": [
    { "type": "promptString", "id": "stitchdb-token", "description": "StitchDB access token", "password": true }
  ],
  "servers": {
    "stitchdb": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://stitchdb.com/platform/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:stitchdb-token}" }
    }
  }
}

#Other clients

Any client that supports Streamable HTTP works with the URL and an Authorization header. Clients that only start local servers can use npx mcp-remote https://stitchdb.com/platform/mcp --header "Authorization:Bearer sdb_pat_...".
