StitchDB runs a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code can work with your projects: inspect schemas, run SQL, apply migrations, read logs and advisors, and generate TypeScript types.
#Server URL
https://stitchdb.com/platform/mcpThe server speaks the Streamable HTTP transport of the current MCP specification. Clients authenticate in one of two ways:
- Access token: create a personal access token and send it as
Authorization: Bearer sdb_pat_…. Used by Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, the OpenAI API and scripts. - OAuth: paste the URL into the client and approve access on a StitchDB consent screen. Used by claude.ai, Claude Desktop connectors and ChatGPT.
#Set up a client
Claude Code
One claude mcp add command.
claude.ai and Claude Desktop
Add a custom connector and sign in with OAuth.
ChatGPT
Create a connector in developer mode.
OpenAI API
Remote MCP tools in the Responses API and Agents SDK.
Cursor and VS Code
A few lines of mcp.json.
Tools
Every tool the server offers.
The dashboard page Connect AI tools has ready-to-copy setup for every client, filled in with your options.
#Scope a connection
Add ?project_ref=<ref> to limit a connection to one project and ?read_only=true to make it read-only, whatever the token allows. See OAuth and URL options.
